Campus Stabbing Leaves Six Injured

An on-campus fight left two students, 19 and 20, stabbed and four others injured with cuts and bruises Sunday morning. The violent incident heightened awareness among campus officials and struck a chord with students in regards to safety issues on campus.

Originally an idea of 25-year-old interactive media arts graduate student Ian Williams, iTV will be a multimedia network that will broadcast a variety of programs.

Hillwood computer lab gets a makeover

Hillwood's computer lab received new furniture and updated equipment Monday.

The lab, located on the second floor of Hillwood Commons, now has three new Apple computers, two PCs, new furniture and a laptop station. Another new PC and a color printer will arrive on Monday, said Nick Petty, supervisor of campus labs and senior majoring in history.

Little-known Psych Club resurges

Of all the active minds at C.W. Post, a little-known group may be among the most cerebral: The Psychology Club.

Last year, the club stopped meeting after some of its leaders graduated. In February, the Psychology Club reactivated.

Jessica Braun and Jenna Provenzano, both juniors majoring in psychology, initiated the club's resurgence.

Student Self-Defense Class Is a 'Hit'

About 20 people participated Thursday in an self-defense class.

The club "kicked off" with a speech by Billy Achnitz, a junior majoring in Accounting. Achnitz is the president of MRAW & WARM (Men Respecting All Women & Women Appreciating Real Men), a campus club that organized the event.

With their slim loss to the Dowling Golden Lions last week, the C.W. Post men's lacrosse team dropped in the National polls from the No.1 team in the country to the No. 4 team. Last Tuesday, Medina became the all-time leader in hits for C.W. Post softball. Medina set the record in the first inning of the Lady Pioneers game against Bridgeport University. Medina passed Kelly Geiger on the all-time hit list when she collected her 271st hit; Geiger had been the leader since 1996.

The C.W. Post Women's Lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season this weekend, succumbing to the third-ranked Lock Haven University Eagles on Saturday in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.

The 11-10 double-overtime loss dropped the second-ranked Pioneers' record to 10-1 while the Eagles were able to continue their undefeated season, improving their overall record to 13-0.

'Kick-Ass' Delivers The Goods

Looking back on the years I spent in the dorms here at Post, I have no idea what I was thinking. This year, I find myself in a gorgeous house in Bayville, living off campus and away from the frickin' dorm rooms. And the best part is, I am paying less money than I paid to live on campus!

If you've ever lived in or even just visited the dorms on campus, you know they aren't pretty.
